Saw Only Lovers Left Alive last night and was blown away.
Sure, it helps that Tom Hiddleston is in it.
But, the soundtrack? It’s like perfect for World of Darkness. It has these instrumental pieces that are just lovely and fitting for the story.
Movie was excellent pacing as well. I was never bored nor was I ever frustrated during the entire film. The story is a basic one — one that isn’t complicated and crazy to follow. It’s a very linear story but has its moments where it goes in the other direction.
The cast is very small. Maybe, 8 people total throughout the whole movie. And I liked that a lot. You didn’t have so many investments that came and went. Tom and Tilda were absolutely stunning. Their chemistry was fantastic as was their acting. They were made for these roles.
It’s creepy and slightly twisted but has a bit of humor to it. There were beautifully crafted parts and some parts that made you smile. It was shot so well, too. They chose Detroit as a location and it was perfect for the setting. It was dark and empty and cold — but it made sense.
If you can see this movie, please do. I would put it as one of my favorites of 2014.

So you thought you might like to, go to the show.
To feel the warm thrill of confusion, that space cadet glow.
Tell me is something eluding you, Sunshine?
Is this not what you expected to see?
If you wanna find out what’s behind these cold eyes,
You’ll just have to blow your way through this disguise.
